How to Cook French Onion Soup Recipe
( for 4 to 6 people)
Ingredients:
Olive oil 100ml
Garlic finely chopped 3 cloves
Onions cut in thin slices 12 pieces
White wine 220ml (one full cup)
Brandy 220 ml (one full cup of any local brandy)
Bay leaves 3pieces
Thyme chopped 1 big soup spoon
Beef stock (you can use any commercial brand of beef flavour just in 2 ltr hot water adds 2 cubes)
Chicken stock (you can use any commercial brand of chicken flavour just in 2 ltr hot water adds 2 cubes)
Brown sugar 1 soup spoon
White Sliced Bread 6 pieces
Gruyere cheese 6 slices
Grated Parmesan Cheese 60 gr
Salt & White Pepper as need it.

Gruyere cheese 6 slices
Grated Parmesan Cheese 60 gr
Salt & White Pepper as need it.
Procedure:
In a large deep pot add the olive oil and sauté the onions, garlic, leeks, bay leaves and the thyme until they get brown golden colour add some white pepper. Slowly add the brown sugar and let all your onions to caramelize. Add the Brandy and the white wine. Let all the items to boil for 2-3 minutes and then add your beef stock and the chicken stock.
Let your soup to boiled in slow fire for 2 hours and correct the salt and pepper.
Take one coffee cup and cut round your white slice bread, and add some salt and pepper and toasted until get crispy.
When you are ready to serve your soup, put all the soup bowl in a metal tray add the soup in the bowl (do not over load the soup bowl) add the toasted bread on top and add the cheese (one slice gruyere, and some parmesan) and put it all in a hot oven for 6-8 min, until the cheese melt and take golden colour.
